Sofia earned her BA at the University of Bologna, Department of Interpreting and Translation in Forlì. After a semester at the Kazan Federal University, she graduated with a thesis on the early spread of psychoanalysis in XX century Russia. She was selected for a dual Master’s degree with the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari and the Russian State University for the Humanities, where she graduated with a thesis on contemporary Russophone émigré poetry. Contemporary poetry of Russophone writers in emigration is among her main academic interests, along with contemporary prose and women’s writing in the post-soviet space. She is also an author of poetry and translator of Russian short fiction.
