About Oleg:

I am a former professor of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow and currently a professor
at Tashkent University. I am an expert in Osip Mandelstam, the Silver Age, and Soviet literature.
I have authored dozens of books and hundreds of articles on Russian Modernism, the history of
20th century poetry and prose, Soviet children’s literature, and the history of Russian and Soviet
literature about love and sex. One of my books, a biography of the writer Venedikt Erofeev,
received Russia’s most prestigious book prize in 2019. Also I have been a guest speaker and
guest professor at universities in Europe. I (co-)organized many conferences on Russian
literature and created an online workshop on Russian poetry that I launched during the pandemic.
