Alexandra Petrova was born in Leningrad and studied literature at the University of Tartu. She left Russia in 1993 and has lived in Jerusalem and Rome. A poet, prose writer and translator, she is the author of three books of poetry, one play and the novel Appendix (2016). Her work has been recognized by literary prizes and translated into several languages.
