Dubravka Ugresic: "Women after the Fall of the Wall"
Dubravka Ugrešić is one of Europe’s most distinctive novelists and essayists. Her writings are concerned with the disintegration of her Yugoslav homeland, the changes coming after the fall of the Berlin Wall, as well as popular and literary cultures. Her work is marked by a rare combination of irony, polemic, and compassion. She left Croatia in 1993 and now lives in Amsterdam. Her latest literary award is the 2016 Neustadt International Prize for Literature.
The talk will be based on her essay that has recently appeared in "World Literature Today"
